off-island mommy

I didn't start school until my fifth year of life. She has just shined her way through life and my heart flutters when she has the look of pure elation and wonder.  Most of the rest of her classmates are 3-year olds yet she has blended right in.  It took her all of one month to be dropped off without tears.
