off-island mommy

we just celebrated my forever-baby's 2nd birthday and after hours lamenting the details of her birthday party i was oh-so-pleased with the outcome.  it's always a challenge to edit the particulars when you've got such a big bunch to celebrate throughout the year.  seriously, i've only got 4 birthday-less months throughout the year so with each kid-birthday, my budgets always  have to remain slim and my ideas fresh. january is particularly challenging because we have 3 birthdays in the house and all in the aftermath of the holidays.  at 2, Zamora has yet to become fully aware of the birthday concept.  she is also not character-fixated with anything just yet.  instead, we chose: bubbles.  and ice cream.  OH ICE CREAM
months back we visited CREAM in downtown livemore and i made sure to put a mental note on the fact they had a party room.  it was even more perfect that we were allowed to bring in outside food and guests.  we set up a bubble station and had so much fun decorating and devouring ice cream sammies and familiar food, all on a very reasonable budget.
